مراحل اقدام برای شهروندی (citizenship) آمریکا و آزمون مربوطه

مراحل شهروندی شامل موارد زیر است:

1- ابتدا می بایست تعیین کنید که شرایط لازم برای درخواست شهروندی رو دارا هستید (طبق فرم M-480).
2- فرم N-400 که برای درخواست شهروندی است رو پر می کنید و مدارک جانبی را با توجه به این چک لیست تهیه می کنید.
3- پرونده را به آدرس USCIS می فرستید (در اینجا در مورد چگونگی پر کردن فرم N-400 و آدرسی که باید فرستاده بشه توضیح داده شده).
4- هزینه تشکیل پرونده در حال حاضر 595 دلار و 85 دلار هم هزینه بیومتریکس است (افراد بالای 72 سال از پرداخت دومی معاف هستند).
5- با توجه به رسیدی که USCIS برای پرونده به شما می فرستند می توانید وضعیت پرونده را به صورت آنلاین پیگیری کنید.
6- به آدرسی که USCIS برای شما مشخص می کنید می روید و بیومتریکس را انجام میدهید.
7- وقتی USCIS پرونده شما را تایید کرد می بایست در مراسم شهروندی شرکت کنید که شامل پر کردن فرم N445 است که به شما دادن (نمونه اش رو در پیوست گذاشتم) و همین طور تحویل دادن گرین کارت و سوگند خوردن.

آزمون شهروندی خیلی ساده و روتین هست و در صورتی که مدارک پرونده ناقص باشه نقصی پرونده میخوره و تایید اون به تاخیر می افته ولی خیلی به ندرت درخواست رد میشه. در مواردی که به ندرت رد می کنند فرد در پرونده اش تقلب محرزی انجام داده (مثلا مشخص بشه که فرد مجرد بوده و در فرم های مالیاتی 5 سال گذشته اش خودش رو متاهل معرفی کرده یا مالیات پرداخت نکرده) یا هنوز شرایط شهروندی رو به دست نیاورده (مثلا طبق ورود و خروج هایی که از کشور داشته مشخص بشه که هنوز زمان لازم رو در آمریکا سپری نکرده) که عمده این موارد هم بعد از تامین اون شرط یا مدرک قابل درخواست دوباره هست. در مواردی که فرد در زمان اقامتش جرم های سنگینی مرتکب شده باشه و به زندان افتاده باشه هم ممکنه مشکلاتی برای پرونده اش به وجود بیاره.

سطح زبانی که افسر در مصاحبه بررسی می کنه بسیار پایین و در این حد است که متقاضی بتونه مثلا یک جمله ای رو بخونه یا بنویسه. در مورد سوال های بخش آشنایی با جامعه آمریکا هم از بین 100 سوال زیر 10 سوال به صورت شفاهی پرسیده میشه که متقاضی باید به 6 تای اونها درست جواب بده (فایل اون رو به پیوست گذاشتم).

زمانش همیشه ثابت نیست، اما معمولا حدود ۶ ماه بعد از ارسال فرم طول می‌کشه. احتمالا ظرف دو، سه ماه آینده جوابی دریافت خواهند کرد.

لازمه سیتیزن شدن این هست که شما به مدت ۵ سال «مقیم» امریکا باشید و حداقل ۳۰ ماه از این ۶۰ ماه رو در امریکا حضور فیزیکی داشته باشید. این که شما در امریکا مالیاتی پرداخت نکردید و خونه‌ای نداشتید و دو بار به مدت بیش از شش ماه خارج از امریکا بودید می‌تونه راحت تعبیر به عدم اقامت در امریکا بشه. در گذشته در این زمینه کمتر سخت‌گیری می‌شد، ولی اخیرا سخت‌گیری‌ها بیشتر شده و حدس می‌زنم که این موضوعات برای شهروند شدن شما مشکل ایجاد کنه.
