A Research Assistant (RA) position is available in the Porous Media and Multiphase Flow Laboratory, Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering Department, Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).
The successful applicant is expected to have a MS degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics with a strong background in Applied Analytical and Numerical Mathematics and Computer Programming. The project is funded by industry for three years and is aimed at developing a mathematical model for characterizing the 3-D microstructure of electrospun nanofiber media. Familiarity with electrospinning, polymer physics, or instrumentation is not necessary but can be advantageous.
The position is expected to be filled by January 2014. The position covers the student's tuition and fees and it also includes a salary of $25,000/year. Preference will be given to candidates who are currently in the US. Interested applicants are encouraged to email their complete resumes and the
