در این تاپیک قصد داریم با کمک دوستان دپارتمانهای مختلف در سراسر جهان که رشته مهندسی کنترل را دارند معرفی کنیم!
رشته مهندسی کنترل یک رشته میان رشته ای هست و بین مهندسی برق، مهندسی مکانیک، مهندسی هوافضا، مهندسی شیمی، ریاضیات مشترک هست!
بنابراین ممکن تو یک دانشگاه رشته کنترل زیر مجموعه دانشکده ریاضی کاربردی باشه، تو یک دانشگاه دیگه زیر مجموعه مکانیک باشه یا مثلا دردانشگاه شفیلد خودش یک دانشکده مجزا داشته باشه!

Automatic Control
Research in this area includes robust control, on-line and distributed optimization, fault detection and identification in control systems, learning methods,modeling immune

systems, control with neural networks, fuzzy systems, and fault-tolerant robotic manipulators.

Automatic control research is also conducted through the Center for Collaborative Manufacturing (CCM, see pages 78-79), a cross-disciplinary engineering research center sponsored by NSF. The scope of the Center's research includes all technical activities in the manufacture of mechanical and electrical discrete products from early design to completion. Current focuses include precision mechanical products, custom-engineered components, and processing of advanced materials.

Control, Intelligent Systems, and Robotics -CIR

Control and Robotics at EECS is concerned with the general problem of modeling systems and machines, and then making them respond appropriately to inputs. Optimization and mathematical techniques play a key role, especially as systems of interest grow in scale. Control ranges from applications in semiconductor process control to hybrid and networked control to nonlinear and learning control, and includes interactions with faculty in Mechanical Engineering and Integrative Biology as well as between EE and CS. Robotics is interpreted broadly to include mobile autonomous systems from millimeter-sized mobile robots to 3 meter rotor span helicopters, fixed autonomous systems for assembly, as well as human augmentation capabilities such as telepresence, and virtual reality. Providing robots with image understanding capabilities is one of the key research areas, as well as using computer vision to assist humans.

Control Systems

The field of control systems has changed dramatically in the last 30 years. The advent of low cost microprocessors has enabled control algorithms to be embedded in almost every conceivable type of technology. The development of sophisticated computed aided design software has enabled analysis and controller design for complex multivariable systems. The needs of society for improved safety and a cleaner environment have posed challenges that can only be solved with feedback control. Numerous new applications for control have emerged, including such areas as biological systems, networks, production lines, and biped locomotion. Faculty in the Control Laboratory of the EECS Department at the University of Michigan play leading roles in all these developments. Our research advances the state of the art and the classes we teach make these new concepts accessible to students. A sampling of our research areas is displayed on this webpage.
