فرق Essay با Statement of purpose

سلام
این قضیه رو از دو سه تا از بچه ها پرسیدم و تقریبا همشون اعتقاد داشتند که خیلی با هم فرقی نمیکنن.اما یکی از دانشگاه ها در مورد مدارکی که باید بفرستیم نوشته:

• Online application form
• Statement of purpose
• Essay
• Curriculum vitae (CV) or resume
• Copy of all university transcripts
• Two letters of recommendation
• Optional: TOEFL or IELTS English language proficiency score (if English is not your native language)
• Optional: Official GRE scores (GRE submission is encouraged and may enhance your application)
