PhD positions in Hydraulic Engineering, Technica Universitat of Braunschweig, Germany
At TU Braunschweig two projects are located:
Research project No. 2: ´Surface and form resistance in natural vegetated streams´
Partitioning of total resistance and shear stress in flows over and through complex roughness (e.g., gravel beds, vegetated streams) into surface and form
contributions will be investigated based on laboratory experiments measuring flow field, drag forces, and roughness geometry.
Research Project No. 9: ´Morphodynamics due to nature-oriented structures´
The flow field and the river morphology depending on the design of nature-oriented structures implemented for river restoration purposes will be investigated in laboratory experiments. The relevant design parameters of the structural elements will be varied systematically.Requirements for Applicant
Subject Requirements (Qualification)
Early-stage researchers (ESRs) must, at the time of recruitment by the host organisation:
The candidate will be required to register for a Doctoral degree at the host (or associated) institution and will be expected to complete the requirements of the degree within the 36 month duration of the project. The candidate will be expected to work on secondment at other partners in the network. The place and duration of the secondments have been pre- determined by the network.

- have not yet been awarded a doctoral degree
- be in the first four years (full-time equivalent research experience) of their research careers
- not have resided or carried out their main activity (work , studies, etc) in the country of their host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the reference date.
