Phd Scholarship in Electrical Engineering at DTU in Denmark
Responsibilities and tasks
This PhD project will investigate both indirect and direct control methods to alleviate the congestions in future electric distribution networks with high penetration of DERs. The distribution system operators (DSOs) might use dynamic tariffs based on local marginal prices (LMPs) or direct control to influence the responses from DERs. The project is to develop a framework to facilitate the efficient coordination of indirect and direct congestion management methods, develop efficient LMP calculation algorithms to indirectly alleviate congestions induced by the system service, and direct control mechanism to alleviate congestions.
Main tasks
Candidates should have a MSc in electrical engineering or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the MSc in engineering.
Assessment
The assessment of the applicants will be made by Assistant Professor Qiuwei Wu, Associate Professor Arne Hejde Nielsen and Associate Professor Yi Ding.
We offer
We offer an interesting and challenging job in an international environment focusing on education, research, public-sector consultancy and innovation, which contribute to enhancing the economy and improving social welfare. We strive for academic excellence, collegial respect and freedom tempered by responsibility. The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is a leading technical university in northern Europe and benchmarks with the best universities in the world.
Salary and appointment terms
The salary and appointment terms are consistent with the current rules for PhD students. The period of employment is 3 years.
