Island Cities and

Urban Archipelagos

Island Cities and Urban Archipelagos is an international, interdisciplinary conference exploring how island status influences urban development, common attributes of island cities worldwide, and the opportunities that islandness presents for developing urban cultures and economies. It will also consider how and why different island cities have developed in different ways.

 

The conference will feature talks on a variety of subjects concerning urban island culture, government, and economy. Presentations may concern cases from individual cities, but the conference as a whole will take a comparative approach to understanding what it means to be an urban island. All proposals for presentations will be subject to peer review.

 

The deadline for abstracts is 30 April 2014. If you wish to take advantage of early registration rates, we recommend that you submit your abstract by 31 March 2014.
