Hi all,
I have been teaching at both Azad Uni and PNU for 8 years, and as some of you know, I am not a faculty member.
I want to acknowledge the entire story Nima said. Although there are still some prestigious teachers among all professors whom you can call real teachers, the whole system can be called rat race. Some teachers look you as either money or steps of work promotion, so if you are really a scientific person, majoring your studies as a Ph.D. student is completly time-wasting. I am not going to discourage you, but if you want to take the same way some of your teachers have taken, go ahead, it's worth trying; otherwise, contemplate finding your prosperity elsewhere but Iran.
Nima mentioned stuff about being a faculty member in our homeland, I want to add a brief note to it. If you are an insider, the'll say welcome with open arms; otherwise, you will be treated as if you were not a citizen of this country.
May god keep this country mercifully because I am concerned about the future of science and scientific life in this country.
